My 'Mane' Products I'm Using and Loving
When it comes to my hair, it tends to change as my style evolves. I always embrace change and a few years back I wanted a shot at being blonde. Although I achieved my goal, my hair suffered. Being a brunette and during that time, the world hadn't been introduced to Olaplex quite yet so you could imagine the struggle to keep my hair in a healthy state and rocking the light hues. Needless to say I lost about 3-4 inches of hair and extensions became my best friend.
I remember the day I decided to just leave my hair alone and start the process of getting my healthy locks back. I had made an appointment with a well-known hair stylist here in Houston and had seen all of his amazing work on Instagram so you know he was legit. It was a consultation as he'd need to see the condition of my hair before committing to touch it. So here I am excited to keep my blonde and add some dimension in the form of lowlights to soften the look. I remember his face as he ran his fingers through my hair, he looked at me and in the most nicest way possible said, "I'm sorry but I can't touch your hair, it is so damaged that if I add anymore chemicals..." Yup, not exactly what I wanted to hear, I was disappointed but I somehow I knew what to expect. I guess I was in denial and though maybe he could perform some sort of miracle.
I appreciated his honesty and integrity, because how many times have we had an idea and no matter what someone says we are determined to figure out a way to get what we want no matter the cost. In my case, it would have cost me hundreds of dollars but at the expensive of losing more hair. He could have taken me as a client as some dishonest stylist have done and made his money disregarding the outcome. But his reputation precedes him and he values what he does and looking back I'm so thankful, no matter how bummed out in the moment I felt.
His advise was to take time to allow my hair to heal, to use intensive hair masks and basically leave it alone. It's been about a year and I'm so happy I listened and now I'm so happy about the look and feel of my hair.
These products I've been using are my life savers and I'm exited to share them with you all. I was grocery shopping one day and if you know me you know that no matter what store I'm at I have to stop by the beauty department. I was searching for a new highlighter that had just come out and as I was walking through the aisles, I saw this shampoo and conditioner. I grabbed it and began to read the packaging. Then I pulled out my phone to read some reviews and well I decided to add it to my cart.
Ladies, these are so awesome! The Renpure Coconut Cream line is life! In the first day of using it I saw and felt a difference. I'm not kidding! It made my hair feel super clean, felt softer, had frizz free hair and made it tangle free. When I went to blow dry it, it was so easy and smooth. Normally in the past I'd have to use an oil or cream to help the frizz during blow drying but no need with this stuff. My hair has grown and no longer do I worry about breakage. I also have had my girls and son using these as well and noticed that Kearstin who has wavy hair but was having issues with dry scalp now is flake free and her hair is silky smooth. Kaitlynn has thick coarse curly hair and complained about frizz and dryness from the flat ironing she was doing. She loves this because it helps tame her frizz and has help with the split ends.
Nate has soft curly hair that tangles easily but now since using the coconut cream line, I leave the conditioner for a few minutes in his hair while in the bath before rinsing and when its time to brush through his hair, it's so much easier and pain free. We are loving Renpure's products and I'm looking forward to trying out their added leave in conditioner and oil to complete the line.
he best part is that it's natural and we are using great health ingredients and we are seeing a difference. The price point is an added plus and you can find it at your local stores. I can't boast about this enough!
Till next post!
